What’s your business and how did you get started?
I started a party rental company in 2017. I think it’s a love that grew from pinterest and instagram. After hosting a few parties myself, I thought about the idea of creating and buying event inventory that I could rent out instead of tossing things away or giving it up to others. Years later I thought about building a space where my clients could host their special events; it was a no brainer! That’s how The Blanc was born: I have two businesses that I could share with my current clients. Best decision ever.
What’s your favorite thing about being a business owner?
My favorite thing about being a business owner is having control of the direction of the business, whether that’s the branding, the sales, the marketing, the growth. Another favorite thing is having a team that believes in you and your business. It feeds my motivation and urge to keep working harder.
What keeps you motivated in the midst of challenges?
I think what keeps me motivated in the midst of challenges is the clients that keep me in business, they have no idea how much impact they have on small business owners like myself. I always think about them first, like if I change something in my business my first thought would be, “but wait, would my clients like this change etc.?” The other thing that keeps me motivated is the compliments from strangers, family and friends, it’s like a healthy reminder that someone looks up to me and I have to keep going.
Tell us about your morning or evening routine:
The earlier I wake up the better day I have. I make my coffee or smoothie depending on my mood, I wash my face and brush my teeth, I open my laptop and work on some emails before I wake up my 7-year-old son for school. After that whatever is on my schedule for that day gets done, I honestly do not have a repetitive schedule, everyday is different! I kinda love it that way lol! My weekend mornings are completely different from my weekends of course.
What’s one thing you’re currently working toward or expected growth for the future?
I’m working towards becoming more involved with the community and local organizations. I’d like to give back for all my accomplishments and blessings. All these years I felt that I had to work on myself first before being able to give back, now I think I’m ready.
What’s your best business advice you would give to other women?
You have to have self-discipline, because there is no one above you telling you what to do, all you have is you. Your choices and decisions will impact you 100%. Also don’t forget self-care is necessary so that you can have the best version of you while you work on becoming successful and growing your business!
