Hayley Denker of Hayley Denker Marketing

What’s your business and how did you get started?

Hayley Denker Marketing is a digital marketing agency focused on inbound & content marketing. Not all digital marketing agencies are created equal, and at Hayley Denker Marketing we pride ourselves on standing out from the crowd. We ignite enthusiasm by fostering our team’s collective creativity over “supposed to’s”, playfulness over cookie cutter, and human connection over algorithms. This allows us to deliver exceptional, measurable results that create true success, not vanity metrics. We take a unique approach by immersing ourselves into each client’s culture to translate their infectious energy and passions to the world and magnify all the great things they do. We are unafraid to make bold decisions so that you can see your business in HD(M).

I got started in my marketing career as a marketing assistant for a restaurant group, but felt claustrophobic in corporate marketing as my career progressed. I pivoted to be a marketing consultant, but craved working with other creatives and so started my agency in 2020. I have the privilege of working with amazing women on my team who take our clients’ brands to the next level!

What’s your favorite thing about being a business owner?

I love the endless possibilities. I’m not someone who sees the future super clearly, but I find that energizing and exciting. I love not knowing what the future holds – is that crazy?!

What keeps you motivated in the midst of challenges?

I’m really, really passionate about providing a supportive environment where creatives can do their best work. When faced with challenges, I think about my team and how I can be the best leader to support them, so that they can support our clients. That’s always at the forefront of my mind.

Tell us about your morning or evening routine.

As a mom of 2 in elementary school, I will tell you that my morning routine is basically herding wild animals! But mornings consist of getting the kids dressed and fed and off to school, then getting to my office by 8:30 am. Sometimes I remind myself that “I’m the boss!” and head back home to have a leisurely breakfast, but I am always in the office by 9 am. In the evenings, I’m back to mom duty after work and cook dinner most nights. I work out 4 days a week in the evenings, which is my “me” time.

What’s one thing you’re currently working toward or expected growth for the future?

Growing our team. We’re getting to the point where we need to expand our team (again) which is very exciting, and I love getting to meet new brilliant creatives who are looking to start a career in marketing.

What’s your best business advice you would give to other women?

You can’t do it all. Outsource everything you don’t like to do. You HAVE to let things go – before we got really busy, I was really into having friends over for “pinterest-worthy” nights, with snacks and goodies and special drinks. Now I’ve learned that it’s ok to just open a bag of chips and a jar of salsa with a bottle of wine. Maybe in the future I’ll have time again for boogie girls nights, but right now it’s just not in the cards.
