What’s your business and how did you get started?

House of Royal is an online luxury accessories brand. I love being able to always put my best foot forward when it comes to my style. Whether I’m quickly pulling a casual look together for a day out running errands, or creating a fancier look when the occasion demands it, one thing I’ve realized is that it’s all in the styling. It’s not about being dressed head to toe in Gucci or Chanel that creates a luxe, and nicely-curated look. It’s really about how the outfit has been styled–– how it’s been intentionally put together. I don’t have hours to put my outfits together, but I need it to look like I did! After some time exploring the fashion playground, I’ve realized the secret to making this happen for me has been styling my minimal looks with statement pieces. It’s gotten easier for me to create quick and easy looks for myself centered around my personal style (which is more minimal), but always paired with a unique statement piece to really pull the look together. And they ALWAYS do! I know many other women also would love to always put their best foot forward when it comes to their style, if they actually had the time and energy to make it happen everyday. I created House of Royal as a brand that merges the worlds of style and ease. The brand serves to bring women access to luxury statement pieces and accessories that help them to build their look, and elevate their everyday style. All the pieces are easy to pair, and ready to wear. And best of all, it saves women time while they still get to wear their best look, everyday.

What’s your favorite thing about being a business owner?

My favorite thing about being a business owner is being able to create a vision, run with it, see it come into manifestation and having my efforts and solutions make people’s lives a bit easier.

What keeps you motivated in the midst of challenges?

Remembering the “why” and the vision I have for the brand keeps me going in the midst of the challenges! Sometimes it can be easy to get lost in the day-to-day, but keeping the bigger picture and the goals for tomorrow helps me always forge ahead.

Tell us about your morning or evening routine.

My morning routine consists of waking up around 7:30am, saying a prayer and reading a few Psalms & Bible Scriptures to start my day before anything else. This really helps me to be in the right frame of mind and start my way with GOD, because I know He’ll be leading me through what’s to come for the day! Then I’ll map out my day and write down everything I have to get done, and then get dressed and ready for the day to start working! I’ll check my emails and have a quick meeting with my small-but-mighty team to go over our tasks and projects sometime mid-morning, and everything else each given day is different! But this is my typical routine to start.

What’s one thing you’re currently working toward or expected growth for the future?

One thing we’re currently working on is expanding internationally in the space of e-commerce, as well as having some of our pieces be sold in-person, in some local stores and boutiques.

What’s your best business advice you would give to other women?

If you wait until you have all the answers and feel like you’re 100% ready before you to start, then you’re starting too late! You’ll always be learning as an entrepreneur, so you don’t have to wait till you have all the answers to take the leap of faith and start!
