From the origin story of their businesses to the ways they allowed themselves to grow as entrepreneurs, our Female Founders series gives a view into the lives of successful women from a variety of industries. Join us for today’s feature, Cassiana Jensen, offering a behind the scenes look at some of what she has done to succeed so far, advice for those starting off, and plans for the future.

What’s your business and how did you get started?

I am an interior designer who specializes in creating spaces that support well-being, using my background in industrial design and a focus on neuroscience. I launched my business after my studies in interior design by gaining experience through a variety of projects to build my portfolio. My business has since grown to serve a diverse range of people, with a focus on helping individuals and families (including those with trauma or neurodivergence) to create homes that truly fit their unique needs.

What is one thing you’re really proud of that you’ve created or accomplished?

I’m proud of several accomplishments. On a project level, one of the most fulfilling experiences was designing and building a client’s custom bench with an ottoman from scratch. On a more public level, I was incredibly honored to receive an award as the Best Interior Designer and also had the opportunity to be a speaker, sharing my personal journey and the life experiences that led me here.

What’s your favorite thing about being a business owner?

The flexibility is something I value immensely. Coming from a family where my parents were often working and less present, the opportunity to build a business from scratch while raising my two kids is truly a gift. It allows me to be present for them while using my skills to help other families have the best possible home. It’s an amazing feeling.

What is the boldest thing you’ve ever done in business?

I believe the boldest thing I’ve ever done was simply starting. I was new to the area and didn’t know anyone, so launching a business in a new place with no prior connections was a massive leap of faith. It was a new start from many perspectives, and I’m proud of the courage it took.

What’s one thing you’re currently excited about for the future of your business?

I am most excited about being able to help more people and share my mission through speaking. With my business, I get to make a tangible difference in the lives of families and individuals by creating spaces that support them. This passion is what makes me happy to wake up every day.

What’s your best business advice you would give to other women?

My best advice is to listen to your inner voice. If you have a dream that you can’t let go of, you have to go for it. It’s natural for people to have their own thoughts, and some may not understand or support your path, but that’s okay. You have the clearest vision for your own success. Keep moving forward, because the more you trust yourself, the more the path will unfold.
