Vuk founded Open Door Montessori to help other professionals train and expand their knowledge of child development. Open Door Montessori offers online training and courses tailored to a Montessori education. She believes there isn’t a one size fits all training for childcare. Open Door Montessori provides a whole-system approach to create calm, consistent environments for peak childhood development.
What’s your business and how did you get started?
Initially I started Open Door Montessori training courses for daycare teachers at our daycare centers in Cambridge. Our daycare centers specialized in offering music and Montessori childcare. When adopting a Montessori philosophy in a daycare center that’s not a traditional Montessori school, we faced a lot of systemic challenges that took me years to observe and overcome. This is why I created Open Door Montessori that now helps other daycare owners adopt Montessori pedagogy without breaking a bank and also in the most holistic way possible.
What is one thing you’re really proud of that you’ve created or accomplished?
Innovation and solving systemic problems in childcare field
What is the boldest thing you’ve ever done in business?
Not giving up!
What’s one thing you’re currently excited about for the future of your business?
I am super passionate to be building aligned and passionate communities of early childhood providers that together continue to re-imagine what’s possible for young children in the early childhood education! Making Montessori available for more children and supporting daycare providers in bringing Montessori and Music learning into their early childhood programs.
What’s your best business advice you would give to other women?
I would advise to remember to celebrate small milestones along the way and always remember their “why!”
What’s your favorite thing about being a business owner?
I love the flexibility, creativity, and continued growth. And the freedom I have in my own business to make decisions and pivot whenever needed to best serve my communities!
