From the origin story of their businesses to the ways they allowed themselves to grow as entrepreneurs, our Female Founders series gives a view into the lives of successful women from a variety of industries. Join us for today’s feature, Simone Bernstein, offering a behind the scenes look at some of what she has done to succeed so far, advice for those starting off, and plans for the future.
What’s your business and how did you get started?
The Wellth Society is a community for ambitious women who want it all: success, purpose, and wellness. We believe you don’t have to choose between your goals and your peace. Our in-person experiences are designed to restore your energy and expand your impact for sustained holistic wealth. I saw a need for a wellness-focused networking group for women and I couldn’t find an organization I wanted to join, so I decided to create it myself!
What is one thing you’re really proud of that you’ve created or accomplished?
I’ve owned a fitness studio (barre3 Brookline) since 2017 and I’m so proud of the way the community sustained the pandemic. My team really came together and stepped up to take care of each other and the community. It hasn’t been easy to recover from that time, but it’s so rewarding watching the way the studio continues to grow.
What’s your favorite thing about being a business owner?
I love the connections I’ve made with other business owners in the Boston area. It’s amazing watching women succeed in business, and in life.
What is the boldest thing you’ve ever done in business?
I have a tendency to come up with a business idea and start an LLC the next day (ha!)
What’s one thing you’re currently excited about for the future of your business?
I can’t wait to watch Wellth Society grow and impact more women in MA and nationally (coming soon!) My goal is to help women realize that they can have success without abandoning themselves, and it warms my heart that people see the vision even though we just launched!
What’s your best business advice you would give to other women?
Don’t ever get so consumed with building a business that you forget to build a life.
You are deserving of taking time to care for yourself, even during the busy seasons. What’s the point of success if you can’t enjoy your life?
