From the origin story of their businesses to the ways they allowed themselves to grow as entrepreneurs, our Female Founders series gives a view into the lives of successful women from a variety of industries. Join us for today’s feature, Ellen Sacher, offering a behind the scenes look at some of what she has done to succeed so far, advice for those starting off, and plans for the future.
What’s your business and how did you get started?
Sacher Consulting is a fractional COO and strategic Ops partner for small businesses. We specialize in implementing our Founder Freedom Framework to help leadership teams gain clarity, improve accountability, and most importantly, scale effectively. Basically, we work with Visionaries as their Integrator to turn their big-picture dreams into reality and align their team around that vision.
The business was born from my passion for systems, operations, and a desire to know how things work and fix them when they don’t. After scaling a law firm that was generating under $500,000 a year to over $1.2 million in less than 18 months, other business owners began reaching out, asking me to do the same for them. That led to the creation of Sacher Consulting!
What is one thing you’re really proud of that you’ve created or accomplished?
I am really proud of the turnaround I led at the law firm. When I joined as the COO, the firm was stagnant. Just a small team of 3, stuck in the same unprofitable cycle year after year. By restructuring the operations, creating systems, and aligning the team, the business transformed, and it’s now on track to generate over $1.6 million this year with an awesome team of 9, and still growing!
What is the boldest thing you’ve ever done in business?
The boldest thing I have ever done in business was taking the leap to start Sacher Consulting from scratch with a 2-year-old son at home and plans to grow our family that same year. It was a leap into the unknown, filled with risk and hope, but it has turned out to be one of the most rewarding decisions I have ever made.
What’s one thing you’re currently excited about for the future of your business?
I am excited about growing my team so we can serve more small businesses. I’m also excited to be stepping onto more stages to share the strategies, systems, and stories that I love.
What’s your best business advice you would give to other women?
A lot can happen in 12 months. So don’t wait for things to be perfect or for yourself to feel 100% ready. Growth happens in motion, not in perfection.
What’s your favorite thing about being a business owner?
My favorite thing about being a business owner is having the freedom to design both the work and life I want, while helping others to do the same! There’s an indescribable satisfaction in seeing a client go from feeling overwhelmed to having a clear vision, an amazing team, and measurable results. I love the ripple effect that comes from solving puzzles, creating systems that work. It creates less stress for the owner and allows them to have their dream life too.
