From the origin story of their businesses to the ways they allowed themselves to grow as entrepreneurs, our Female Founders series gives a view into the lives of successful women from a variety of industries. Join us for today’s feature, Kristin Gauthier, offering a behind the scenes look at some of what she has done to succeed so far, advice for those starting off, and plans for the future.

What’s your business and how did you get started?

After 25 years as a nurse, I watched women get dismissed over and over—told their symptoms were “normal” or “just aging,” while they were quietly falling apart behind the scenes. Then in 2020, my own health crisis forced me to become my own detective. When even the top specialists in Boston couldn’t figure out what was wrong, I dove into root-cause work and rebuilt my health from the inside out. That experience changed everything—and lit the fire that became Nourish.

I launched the business in 2018 with nutrition coaching and tiny habit shifts, and it has grown into a full integrative, root-cause practice. Today, I combine HTMA testing, mineral balancing, integrative modalities, and subconscious tools like hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT, and TIME Techniques to support women physically, mentally, and emotionally.

And here’s the thing that makes my work a little different—I bring humor and practicality into everything I do. Midlife is intense; if we can’t laugh about the fact that yesterday’s jeans suddenly feel like skinny jeans from 2007… what are we even doing here?

But the heart of my business? Connection. Community. Women remembering they don’t have to hold it all alone.

That’s why I host Nourish Women’s Circles, group events, workshops, and community-based programs. I’ve seen firsthand that connection is a massive part of our health. When women gather, something shifts—stress softens, clarity grows, healing accelerates, and we stop feeling like we’re the only ones going through it.

My business was born from my own struggle and has evolved into a mission:
Helping midlife women reclaim their energy, balance their hormones, honor their mental and emotional wellbeing, and feel rooted in community again.
Because when women feel good—and feel connected—they become unstoppable.

What is one thing you’re really proud of that you’ve created or accomplished?

This past year I completed my Master’s Degree in Public + Population Health Nursing and became a board-certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, EFT Practitioner, NLP Practitioner, TIME Techniques Practitioner and Life + Success Coaching….these accomplishments were the missing pieces to my practice and have brought a wealth of offerings to fill the needs of my clients. It was a lot of work, early mornings, late nights and weekends over the last 2 years and 100% worth it. The successes my clients have had with these modalities is life changing.

What’s your favorite thing about being a business owner?

I love networking and supporting other women-owned businesses. Collaboration and community are always at the heart of what I do. I love that I have built the Nourish community from scratch and could not have done it without a lot of blood, sweat and tears and my biz besties!

What is the boldest thing you’ve ever done in business?

Standing up for what I believe in…ALWAYS! I am not a go with the crowd nurse or practitioner and I am going to blaze a path that has never been walked so that my clients get the answers and support they truly need. I will also always provide a personalized experience, no one-size-fits all programs here!
What’s one thing you’re currently excited about for the future of your business?

I am SO excited to be blending science-backed functional testing with subconscious modalities…absolute game-changer for midlife women….our subconscious runs 95% of the show and we need to support it.

What’s your best business advice you would give to other women?

Find your biz besties! Find those people who get you, who support you, who you can text when you are frustrated and need advice or a coffee or a space to vent and in return you are there to support them. It can be lonely when you are a solopreneur so making your own “team” is critical…and fun! Also put yourself out there…the world needs you and what you have to offer. This past year I have gone outside of my comfort zone and it has been so rewarding personally and professionally.
